  • Our Training Module structure ensures consistency while offering flexibility for your individual learning pace. Each module starts by establishing context, then delivers core content in an engaging, self-directed format. Key concepts are reinforced via active recall, complemented by skills assessments with immediate feedback. Practical examples throughout illustrate direct application to real tours, building tangible capabilities.

  • Our training methodology is grounded in educational research and professional learning best practices. Through extensive field testing with real learners, we've developed an approach that trains you in a tour format you can apply immediately after the course. Your personal mentor and our 24/7 support team will be there to guide you every step of the way.

  • This programme is the product of genuine collaboration with experienced tour guides and training professionals. Working guides identified the skills that actually matter in practice. Training professionals brought expertise in adult learning and instructional design. Months of research and years of field testing refined every element. The scenarios you'll encounter and skills you'll develop are drawn from actual guiding situations — this is practical preparation built by professionals who've lived the work you're preparing to do.

Building your expertise step by step.

Begin your journey with the Newbie or Expert plan, where you'll learn or refresh the fundamental skills every professional guide needs. Once you've established a solid foundation in guiding essentials, you'll choose your regional focus — specialising in either Scotland or England based on your interests and where you plan to work. This targeted approach ensures you develop the deep destination knowledge that distinguishes exceptional guides.

  • You've reached the final assessment stage, where everything comes together — knowledge, judgement, communication, and professional presence. This isn't designed to catch you out, but to confirm that you're ready to guide confidently, responsibly, and professionally. The assessment reflects real guiding scenarios, real decision-making, and on-tour behaviour, demonstrating that you can think clearly, communicate calmly, and represent professional standards in front of guests. The assessment has two parts: a 70-question written exam covering all foundation lessons (70% pass mark, 90 minutes) focusing on realistic on-tour situations and professional judgement, and a 12-minute video assessment reviewed by Senior Trainers. This is your opportunity to demonstrate not just what you know, but who you are as a guide.

  • Your journey doesn't end with certification. Upon completion, you'll join our professional guide pool with direct access to paid tour opportunities through our network of leading tour operators. Our Guide Cockpit platform connects you to available tours, while our community provides ongoing support, resources, and continuing education. We've built the bridge between training and real work — so you can focus on what you do best: guiding exceptional tours.

Destination training — master your route with confidence.

Our destination training turns theory into real on-tour security. You get to know routes, cities and typical guest situations in practice — and you train commentary, timing, logistics and operations the way you will use them as a guide.

  • Master the most important first moment of any tour: meeting guests, organising arrivals, and setting the tone with calm, confident communication. You'll practise the real flow of a transfer and learn the small details that help you look professional from minute one.

  • Build route familiarity and learn how strong guides keep a tour running smoothly — timings, check-ins, coordination with the driver, and practical incident handling. You'll pick up the routines and shortcuts that turn a busy itinerary into a seamless guest experience.

  • Develop destination knowledge and learn how to present it in a way that feels structured, engaging, and guest-focused. You'll practise delivering short segments, handling common questions, and keeping group energy positive throughout the day.

  • Once your guiding fundamentals are in place, you specialise based on where you want to work. Each pathway gives you hands-on exposure to key locations and typical tour elements, so you leave knowing not only what to say, but how to run the tour in that region with confidence.
